| The Growth and Need for Christian Education |
|
The concept of biblical Christian education has been growing in the UK for many years. Many church leaders and parents are dissatisfied with what is happening to their children in secular schools. • the influence of ungodly curriculum, unbelieving teachers and worldly peer pressure of their children, growing use of drugs, alcohol and other addictive substances, even in Primary schools; • rapidly increasing incidents of mental and physical violence; • the occult - horoscope, mediums, fortune-telling It is unrealistic to expect an hour’s Sunday school a week to counteract the daily onslaught our children face each and every day. It is the responsibility of the parent to train their children in the way they should go (Proverbs 22:6) and to teach them and instruct them about the Lord (Ephesians 6:4). Christian parents must realise that God has placed final responsibility for their children’s education and training in their hands. The notion that it is the state’s responsibility to educate children is not biblical. Many state schools remove God and biblical teaching altogether. With the clear shift toward secular humanism and society’s confusing standards of right and wrong, many biblical Christian schools have sprung up. In a controlled and godly environment children are taught from a biblical perspective. |
